All students are able to learn and deserve an opportunity to learn through their interests and individual learning styles. Our school caters for a range of student’s needs from Kindergarten to Year Six. Some students with disabilities receive support from our Inclusion Support Centre which is an integral part of the Sacred Heart Community. Our Centre acts as a stepping stone to prepare students with disabilities for the mainstream classroom and to cope with daily life situations.

The Sacred Heart Inclusion Support Centre supports students with intellectual and physical disabilities, heath, social-emotional, medical concerns, Autism and Aspergers, Sensory (Vision and Hearing) and some severe language disorders. The students receive individualised programs based on their IEP (Individual Education Plan) that is set by the parents, classroom teacher, inclusive support teacher and therapists. The students receive opportunities to learn through one on one teaching and in very small groups.

The students who access the Centre may come for Literacy, Numeracy, Social Skills or all three of these areas. These students spend part of the day in the Centre and part of it in their mainstream classroom. They also attend specialist areas with their mainstream class when it is appropriate.
