Welcome to Week Seven of our term. We have had an eventful couple of weeks. Last week we had our school swimming carnival which was a great day. As always Mr Bouffler did an amazing job organising things and Murphy house ended up victorious. Well done to all the competitors and we look forward to our interschool carnival.

Welcome to Week Five of our term. It is certainly flying by! This weekend is a long weekend, a great chance to have an extended break for the children and staff. NAPLAN takes place this term and our children in Years 3 and 5 will undertake the assessments in Week 7 and if needed Week 8. I’m sure they will do the best that they can with the assessments.

Next Friday 1 December evening we will be having our school Christmas Concert. This is a wonderful opportunity to gather together and get into the Christmas spirit. The children have been busily preparing their dances and learning the moves to all of the songs. A reminder gates open from 5.30pm to allow families time to purchase dinner from the food trucks. Children are under parent supervision until the bell rings at 6.40pm when students must make their way up to their classrooms. The concert starts at 7pm. This event is an alcohol and smoking (including vaping) free zone. More details about the concert can be found further down in the newsletter.

Last week we had our Music Concert. It was fantastic to see the progression of the students who have lessons at Sacred Heart and to also see the Choir perform. Special thanks must also go to Mrs Vinci and our music tutors Joel, Keenan and Bronwen for their hard work. Mrs Min and Mrs Cannell also assisted on the night backstage. If you are interested in your child receiving music tuition, please see the ladies at the front office for more information. Next year students in years three to six are eligible to have lessons.

Our ACM will take place on the 22 November in our school hall. The P&F will provide a light supper commencing at 6.30pm. We will start the ACM promptly at 7pm. Your attendance would be greatly appreciated.

This week our Interschool Athletics Team has been involved in two days of competition. Mr Bouffler has been busy training the students and they have performed extremely well. The team took out fifth place overall out of eight teams and were only twenty-six points behind second place, so it was very close!

Whilst we haven’t quite had the warm weather yet, it is coming. I would like to remind parents that the school has a policy that if a child does not have a hat they must remain in undercover areas during play times. All children must also have a water bottle at school that they can fill. This will become increasingly important as the weather warms up.
